Family Devotional 5: Week of: December 13

Reflection

Sunday Text: Jude verses 11-13

11 Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam’s error and perished in Korah’s rebellion.

12 These are hidden reefs at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, shepherds feeding themselves; waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted;

13 wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever.

Connection

Principle: Planting Seeds

How can one best recognize false teaching?

Knowing God starts when He calls us to salvation.  Read these verses and consider what they mean to your family being saved:

Romans 3:20 – Will our works, what we do save us?

Romans 3:21 –  The righteousness of God is Jesus who fulfilled the law

Romans 3:22 – By faith alone in Christ alone are we saved.

Romans 3:23 – Who has sinned and fallen short?

Romans 3:24- Justified means made right in God’s view.

Submitting your life to Christ alone is the step to being made right in the gift of God’s grace.

Knowing God is rooted in the study of His word.  How can your family practice the study of God’s word this week?
